Up is a 2009 American computer-animated comedy-adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios about a cranky old man and an overeager Wilderness Explorer who fly to South America in a floating house suspended from helium balloons. It is distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, and premiered by opening the 2009 Cannes Film Festival as the first animated film ever to do so. The film was released on May 29, 2009 in North America and is scheduled for release on October 9, 2009 in the United Kingdom. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, released on 16 July 2005, is the sixth of seven novels from British author J. K. Rowling's popular Harry Potter series. Set during Harry Potter's sixth year at Hogwarts, the novel explores Lord Voldemort's past, and Harry's preparations for the final battle amidst emerging romantic relationships and the emotional confusions and conflict resolutions characteristic of mid-adolescence.

The book sold three million copies in the first 16 hours after its release, a record at the time which was eventually broken by its sequel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.^[1]

Plot:

As Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters commit crimes in both the magical and Muggle worlds, Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge is replaced by Rufus Scrimgeour. Professor Snape, appearing to have rejoined the Death Eaters and Lord Voldemort, is visited by Narcissa Malfoy and Bellatrix Lestrange. A terrified Narcissa tells Snape that her son, Draco, has received orders from Lord Voldemort, and asks Snape to make an Unbreakable Vow to protect her son and complete the task for him should he fail.

Harry Potter accompanies Albus Dumbledore on a trip to persuade retired Hogwarts professor Horace Slughorn to return to teaching. Harry notices one of Dumbledore's hands is withered and burnt black, and he is wearing a ring with a distinctively-marked stone. Harry spends the remaining holiday at The Burrow with the Weasleys and Hermione, where they receive their O.W.L. results. Harry and Ron must take N.E.W.T. level Potions to become Aurors, but their O.W.L.s in the subject are too low to enrol in Snape's Potions class.

At Hogwarts, Snape is named the new Defence Against the Dark Arts instructor, with Slughorn becoming the Potions teacher. Slughorn's requirements are lower than Snape's, so Harry and Ron are able to enrol in his class, but do not have textbooks. Slughorn loans them copies; Harry's book has notes and corrections that yield better results than the textbook's instructions, winning him a vial of Felix Felicis, a potion that infuses luck, on his first day in class. His book is inscribed as having previously belonged to the "Half-Blood Prince".

Ron's brother, Bill Weasley, is engaged to Fleur Delacour, of whom his mother disapproves. Auror Nymphadora Tonks makes comments suggesting she may harbour feelings for her now-slain cousin Sirius Black. However, it is eventually revealed that she has fallen for Remus Lupin, and, despite his protests that he is unworthy of her, they marry over the summer.

Ron and Ginny join the Gryffindor Quidditch team, which Harry now captains, as Keeper and Chaser respectively. This puts Harry in frequent contact with Ginny, who for a long time harbored an attraction to him. Now, however, she is dating Dean Thomas— unexpectedly making Harry jealous. This is exacerbated when Dean also gains membership on the team, replacing original member Katie Bell who is almost killed while attempting to deliver a cursed necklace under the influence of the Imperius Curse. Ron is displeased with his younger sister dating anybody, forcing Harry to ignore his attraction. After an argument with Ginny in which Ron's dating inexperience is made clear, Ron takes up with Lavender Brown, creating a divide between him and Hermione. This rift is only mended when he accidentally consumes a love potion attracting him to Romilda Vane, and then poisoned mead which almost kills him.

Dumbledore privately tutors Harry, using his Pensieve to show Harry memories of Voldemort's past. Dumbledore asks Harry to retrieve a key memory from Slughorn regarding Slughorn's conversation with a sixteen-year-old Tom Riddle. Harry uses his vial of Felix Felicis to acquire the memory.

The memories reveal that Voldemort splintered his soul into six fragments attached to objects called Horcruxes, while leaving a seventh piece in his body, in order to achieve immortality. As long as any of the Horcruxes exists Voldemort cannot be killed. Two Horcruxes have been destroyed - Tom Riddle's diary by Harry in the Chamber of Secrets^[HP2], and Marvolo Gaunt's ring by Dumbledore. Three of the remaining Horcruxes are a locket formerly owned by Salazar Slytherin, a cup formerly owned by Helga Hufflepuff, and the snake Nagini. Dumbledore speculates that the sixth unidentified Horcrux may be something associated with Gryffindor or Ravenclaw, as Riddle would have wanted something from each of the houses of Hogwarts, which he regarded as his home.

After seeing Harry cast an unusual curse, "Sectumsempra" (a dark curse which leaves deep gashes) against Draco Malfoy, Snape attempts to confiscate the Half-Blood Prince's Potions book, but Harry gives him Ron's copy instead and hides his copy in the Room of Requirement. Harry gets detention from Snape and misses the Quidditch finals, but Gryffindor wins the Cup. During the victory celebration Harry spontaneously kisses Ginny, and with Ron's grudging approval they begin dating.

Dumbledore locates another Horcrux and asks Harry to accompany him to destroy it. They travel to a cave to retrieve a locket. Dumbledore is weakened after drinking a potion to obtain the Horcrux. Harry retrieves the Horcrux and guides Dumbledore to safety in Hogsmeade, but as they arrive they see the Dark Mark over the Astronomy Tower at Hogwarts and hurry back to the school.

Dumbledore and an invisible Harry are confronted atop the tower by Draco Malfoy, and before Harry can reveal himself, Dumbledore immobilises Harry before Malfoy disarms him. Draco admits that he was behind two attacks on Hogwarts students (Katie Bell's cursing and Ron's poisoning), with both objects intended for Dumbledore, whom Voldemort had ordered Draco to kill. Dumbledore offers Draco protection from the Death Eaters, and Draco cannot bring himself to kill Dumbledore, even with the urging of fellow Death Eaters once they arrive. Instead, fulfilling his Unbreakable Vow, Snape kills Dumbledore. Harry, enraged and freed from immobility by Dumbledore's death, pursues Snape, who reveals that he is the Half-Blood Prince and fends off Harry's attacks until he gets outside Hogwarts grounds and Disapparates.

Harry recovers the locket from Dumbledore's body, only to discover it is a fake left by someone with the initials R. A. B., who stole the real Horcrux and left a note about his opposition to Voldemort. The school year ends with Dumbledore's funeral. He and his wand are buried in a tomb beside the lake on Hogwarts's grounds. Harry vows not to return to school but to hunt for the remaining Horcruxes instead. Harry breaks up with Ginny to keep her safe from danger during his quest, and Ron and Hermione pledge to accompany him.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is the fourth instalment in the Harry Potter series written by J. K. Rowling, published on July 8, 2000. The book attracted additional attention because of a pre-publication warning from J. K. Rowling that one of the characters would be murdered in the book.

The novel won a Hugo Award in 2001;^[1] it was the only Harry Potter novel to do so. The book was made into a film, which was released worldwide on 18 November 2005.

Plot:

The book opens with Harry Potter having a dream about Frank Bryce, the ex-caretaker at the Riddle family mansion, who is caught eavesdropping on a deformed Lord Voldemort and his servant, Peter Pettigrew. In Harry's dream, Bryce is killed by Voldemort. Later in the summer, Harry, Hermione Granger, and the Weasley family take a trip to the Quidditch World Cup. While there, Death Eaters, Voldemort's servants, storm the grounds, harass some muggles, and run away when they see the dark mark in the sky.

Back at Hogwarts Albus Dumbledore announces during the welcoming feast that the school will host the Triwizard Tournament, an inter-school competition. One student from each of three magical schools will be chosen by the Goblet of Fire to compete. The other two magical institutions, Beauxbatons Academy, and Durmstrang Institute, arrive at Hogwarts two months into the school term. The champions chosen by the goblet were: Fleur Delacour from Beauxbatons, Viktor Krum of Durmstrang, and Cedric Diggory of Hogwarts. Mysteriously, Harry is also chosen, even though he did not submit his name, and is underage and ought to have been magically blocked from doing so. Ron Weasley is instantly infuriated, thinking Harry submitted himself.

The new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor is Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody, a former Auror and Dumbledore's friend. He teaches his students the three Unforgivable Curses in class, a lesson which is illegal. Those curses are the Imperius Curse, which forces the victim to do the caster's bidding; the Cruciatus Curse, a spell that tortures its victim; and the killing curse called Avada Kedavra. Harry learns he is the only known person to have survived the Killing Curse, cast against him by Voldemort when Harry was a baby.

In the first task of the tournament, the champions each are to retrieve a golden egg from a dragon, which contains a clue for the second task. Harry completes the task with help from Rubeus Hagrid and Professor Moody. The second tournament task requires retrieving something important taken from each champion hidden in the Black Lake. Ten minutes before the task, Harry is given gillyweed by Dobby the house elf so he can breathe underwater. Harry finds the four “important objects” of the tournament's contestants: Ron, Hermione, Cho, and Fleur’s little sister, Gabrielle Delacour. He is forced to rescue Gabrielle along with Ron when Fleur does not come, which causes him to lose the challenge, but he gain points for ‘moral fibre.'

One night after the second task, Harry and Krum are startled when a disheveled Barty Crouch, Sr. emerge from the forest, mumbling nonsense and demanding to see Dumbledore. Harry runs for help, but when he returns with Dumbledore, they find Krum unconscious and Crouch missing. Harry learns more about the Crouches when he sees one of Dumbledore's memories in the Pensieve, a memory storing tool. The memory shows Barty Crouch, Jr, a Death Eater, sentenced to Azkaban by Barty Crouch Sr for torturing Frank and Alice Longbottom (Neville's parents) into insanity.

The third and final tournament task involves navigating a large maze located on the Quidditch Pitch which is filled with magical obstacles. Harry and Cedric successfully help each other navigate the maze. They reach the Triwizard cup and agree to take hold of it simultaneously, making both of them the winners. The Cup turns out to be a portkey that transports them to an old graveyard in Little Hangleton. Pettigrew and a deformed Lord Voldemort, are there. Pettigrew kills Diggory, and ties Harry's hands and feet to the Riddle tombstone. He then uses a bone from Voldemort's father's grave, some of Harry's blood, and his own cut-off hand in a magical ritual that restores Lord Voldemort to a new body.

Voldemort summons Death Eaters, and reveals that a servant of his at Hogwarts ensured that Harry would participate in the tournament, win it, and thus be brought to the graveyard. Harry tries to disarm Voldemort with the Expelliarmus spell, at exactly the same time as Voldemort uses the killing curse. The two curses meet and interlock, causing a bond between the wands that displays the "echoes" (described by Dumbledore) of Voldemort's most recent murdered victims, including Cedric, James and Lily Potter. The "echoes" provide protection to Harry, allowing him to escape with Cedric's body and leaving Voldemort behind in a rage.

Harry, carrying Cedric's body, returns to the school grounds. Moody rushes Harry to his office, where he reveals that he was Voldemort's servant, and attempts to kill Harry himself. Moody is stopped by Dumbledore, Severus Snape, and Minerva McGonagall. Dumbledore feeds Moody Veritaserum, and they discover that "Moody" is actually Barty Crouch, Jr., who was smuggled out of Azkaban and was using a Polyjuice Potion to impersonate the real Alastor Moody. Cornelius Fudge, the Minister for Magic, arrives at Hogwarts accompanied by a Dementor. When the Dementor enters the room where Crouch, Jr. stands, it swoops down and gives him the “Dementor’s Kiss”, sucking out his soul. Fudge refuses to believe Dumbledore's and Harry's word that Voldemort is back.

Harry is crowned Triwizard Champion and awarded with 1,000 galleons. Days later, Dumbledore then makes an announcement at the gloomy Leaving Feast, telling everybody about Voldemort and saying that to deny the true way Cedric died would be 'an insult to his memory.' While leaving the Hogwart’s Express on King’s Cross Station, Harry gives his winnings to Fred and George to start a joke shop and Harry sets off for another summer at the Dursleys'.

Subplot: Rita Skeeter

Rita Skeeter, a writer for the Daily Prophet, spends much of the story writing lies about Harry (about the time his scar hurt after a strange dream in Divination), Hagrid (about the time he told Madame Maxime about his mother), and Hermione (in love with Viktor Krum). Skeeter carries out secret interviews with Slytherin students to get the fodder for some of her stories, but the sources for others are inexplicable. Initially, Harry suspects that she has an Invisibility Cloak, but Hermione knows that Mad Eye Moody would have been able to see through the cloak with his magical eye. Next, Harry thinks that she may have had areas of the school bugged. However, Hermione tells them that electronic devices do not work in Hogwarts because of the magic in the air. Near the end of the book, Hermione finally realises how Skeeter was doing this: she is an unregistered Animagus and can turn into a beetle. Harry and Ron realise that there was a beetle on the statue near Hagrid's hut, and later in Hermione's hair after the second task, and on the window of Divination class when Harry's scar hurt, and that the Slytherins knew about it all along. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the third installment in the Harry Potter series written by J. K. Rowling. The book was published on 8 July 1999. The novel won the 1999 Whitbread Book Award, the Bram Stoker Award, the 2000 Locus Award,^[1] and was short-listed for other awards, including the Hugo.^[1] This placed the novel among the most-honoured works of fantasy in recent history.^[2] A film based on the book was released on 31 May 2004, in the United Kingdom and 4 June 2004 in the U.S. and many other countries. This is the only novel in the series that does not feature Lord Voldemort in some form.

Plot:

J.K. Rowling's third book opens with Harry Potter enduring another unhappy summer at the Dursleys'. When Uncle Vernon's visiting sister, Marge, viciously abuses Harry and insults hisparents, Harry loses his temper, inadvertently causing Marge to inflate and float into the air. Harry runs away, finally unable to tolerate living with the Dursleys. He fears he will be expelled from Hogwarts for using magic out of school.

Harry is picked up by the Knight Bus that takes him to Leaky Cauldron, but not before he glimpses a dangerous-looking creature lurking in the nearby bushes. While on the Knight Bus, Harry learns about Sirius Black, a wizard convict who murdered thirteen people with one curse and escaped from the wizard prison Azkaban. Reaching Diagon Alley, he is met by Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge, who surprisingly assures Harry that the matter involving Marge is resolved. Fudge then insists that Harry spend the rest of the holiday in Diagon Alley, not wanting to lose track of him again.

Harry spends the next two weeks in Diagon Alley, where he buys school supplies and meets up with his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. To Ron's disapproval, Hermione buys a pet cat, called Crookshanks, who frequently harasses Ron's pet rat, Scabbers. The night before their return to Hogwarts, Harry and Hermione have dinner with Ron and his family at the Leaky Cauldron. That night, Harry overhears Ron's parents arguing over whether to tell Harry about Black, and learns that Black is possibly after him. Harry realises that Fudge had been lenient with him because he was relieved to find him alive, and had made him stay in Diagon Alley so there would be wizards to keep an eye on him.

Before Harry boards the train to Hogwarts, Mr Weasley takes him aside to warn him about Black, not knowing that Harry overheard him and Mrs Weasley last night. He also tells Harry not to go looking for Black, whatever he might hear. On the train journey, the train is searched by Dementors, dark, sinister beings that drain the happiness of anyone nearby. Harry passes out from a Dementor's presence, but he is saved by the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Remus Lupin.

At Hogwarts, there are two new teachers: Lupin and, to Harry, Ron, and Hermione's delight, Hagrid for Care of Magical Creatures. With Black still at large, Dementors patrol the school. Harry is particularly vulnerable to their presence because of his unhappy past, prompting Lupin to teach him the Patronus charm to repel them.

While all this is happening, tension builds as Buckbeak, Hagrid's Hippogriff is sentenced to execution.

Unable to witness the execution, Harry, Ron, and Hermione walk away towards the castle. However, Scabbers, Ron's rat, escapes from his pocket and they chase it to the Whomping Willow, an aggressive tree that attacks anyone who goes near it. Just as Ron catches Scabbers, a huge black dog appears and starts attacking Harry. Ron tries to help Harry, and the dog attacks him instead, dragging him to a tunnel under the Whomping Willow, and breaking his leg in the process. Harry and Hermione follow the dog in the hope of rescuing Ron.

The tunnel leads to the Shrieking Shack where Harry confronts Sirius Black, an Animagus who is able to transform into an animal at will. Lupin, who spotted the group on the Marauder's Map, suddenly bursts in and embraces his old friend Black. Confronted by Hermione, Lupin admits to being a werewolf and the Map's creator, along with Black, Pettigrew, and James Potter, the latter two also being illegal Animagi (a rat and a stag, respectively). Lupin and Black explain that Scabbers is actually Peter Pettigrew in his Animagus form. Pettigrew is Voldemort's servant, and it was he who betrayed the Potters, framing Black for the crimes. Black escaped Azkaban seeking revenge and to stop Pettigrew murdering Harry. Harry halts Black and Lupin from executing Pettigrew, preventing his father's two best friends from becoming killers.

As they escort Pettigrew back to the castle, Black invites Harry to stay with him, allowing Harry to leave the Dursleys forever. However, this hope is quickly dashed as the full moon rises and Lupin transforms into a werewolf. During the ensuing commotion, Pettigrew escapes in his animagus rat form while Black transforms into a dog to protect the others from Lupin, who eventually runs off. Black is badly injured, however, and as Dementors move in to attack him, Harry sees a mysterious figure in the distance who casts a powerful, stag-shaped Patronus, scattering the vicious creatures. Before passing out, Harry becomes convinced it was his late father who produced the Patronus.

In the hospital wing, Harrylearns that he and Hermione have to go back in time using Hermione's Time Turner. They go to the time when Buckbeak is being executed, and lure him out of Hagrid's hut. After freeing Buckbeak, Harry and Hermione head back to the Whomping Willow. But Harry, who realized that Lupin could be headed there suggested that they go to Hagrid's Hut. After going to Hagrid's Hut, Harry, against Hermione's wishes, hurries down to the lake to try and see his father. The Dementors attack, but no one comes, and Harry then realises that he saw himself conjure the Patronus. With this knowledge, he is able to save his past self and Sirius. After saving and releasing Sirius, they give Buckbeak to Sirius so he won't be discovered.

Harry and Hermione later inform Ron what occurred earlier that day. The trio runs into Hagrid, who says that Lupin resigned after Snape, incensed over Sirius's escape, revealed to the students that Lupin is a werewolf. Harry went to stop him, but Lupin just returned the Map to Harry, and left. Then, after a few comforting words from Albus Dumbledore, Harry left school, on the train, where Sirius sent Ron an owl called Pigwidgeon. Later, at King's Cross Station, Harry scared the Dursleys by saying that he was in contact with a full-grown wizard that they thought was anevil convict.

This results in Harry's immediate fame, and his being placed in the care of his muggle, or non-magical, relatives Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon.

Plot summary

This novel begins when Harry and his cousin, Dudley, are attacked by dementors. Harry uses magic to fight them off, and must attend a disciplinary hearing. It quickly becomes apparent that the hearing is a show trial, and despite the best attempts of the Ministry of Magic, he is cleared of all charges. In response to Voldemort's reappearance, Dumbledore re-activates the Order of the Phoenix, a secret society which works to defeat Voldemort's minions and protect Voldemort's targets, including Harry. Despite Harry's description of Voldemort's recent activities, the Ministry of Magic and many others in the magical world refuse to believe that Voldemort has returned.^[1]

In an attempt to enforce its version of school curriculum, the Ministry appoints Dolores Umbridge as the new High Inquisitor of Hogwarts. She transforms the school into a quasi-dictatorial regime and refuses to allow the students to learn ways to defend themselves against dark magic.^[1] Harry forms a secret study group and begins to teach his classmates the higher-level skills he has learned. The novel introduces Harry to Luna Lovegood, an airy young witch with a tendency to believe in oddball conspiracy theories. Moreover, it reveals an important prophecy concerning Harry and Voldemort.^[2] Harry also discovers that he and Voldemort have a telepathic connection, allowing Harry to view some of Voldemort's actions. In the novel's climax, Harry and his school friends face off against Voldemort's Death Eaters. The timely arrival of members of the Order of the Phoenix saves the children's lives, but Sirius Black, Harry's godfather, dies. Many Death Eaters are captured and, most importantly, the return of Voldemort is confirmed within the magical world.^[1]

Despite stringent security measures at Hogwarts, Harry is confronted by Black at the end of his third year of schooling and Harry learns that Black was framed and is actually Harry's godfather. At the conclusion of the tournament, Harry witnesses the return of Lord Voldemort to full strength. Plot summary

Following Dumbledore's death, Voldemort has completed his ascension to power and gains control of the Ministry of Magic. Harry, Ron, and Hermione drop out of school so that they can find and destroy Voldemort's remaining three horcruxes. They are forced to isolate themselves to ensure the safety of their family and friends. They do not have much knowledge about the remaining horcruxes except the possibility that two of them are objects that belonged to Hogwarts founders Rowena Ravenclaw and Helga Hufflepuff, and that the third is Nagini, Voldemort's snake familiar. The locations of the two founders' objects are unknown, and Nagini is presumed to be with Voldemort himself. As they search for the horcruxes, the trio learn details about Dumbledore's past, as well as Snape's true motives.

The trio recovers the first of Voldemort's horcruxes, Salazar Slytherin's locket, by infiltrating the Ministry of Magic. They recover the Sword of Godric Gryffindor; it is one of a few objects that can be used to destroy horcruxes, and they use it to destroy the locket. In their travels the trio come across a strange symbol, which an eccentric wizard named Xenophilius Lovegood tells them represents the mythical Deathly Hallows. The Hallows are revealed to be three sacred objects: the Resurrection Stone, a stone with the power to bring others back to life; the Elder Wand, an unbeatable wand; and an infallible Invisibility Cloak. Harry learns that Voldemort is after the Elder Wand, but the trio decides that discovering Voldemort's horcruxes is more important than procuring the wand for themselves. They break into a vault at the wizarding bank Gringotts to recover another horcrux, the cup of Helga Hufflepuff. Harry learns that another horcrux is hidden in Hogwarts, and Harry, Ron, and Hermione enter the school. They find this horcrux, the Diadem of Ravenclaw, and successfully destroy both.The book culminates in the Battle of Hogwarts. Harry, Ron, and Hermione, in conjunction with students and members of the wizarding world opposed to the rise of Voldemort, defend Hogwarts from Voldemort, his Death Eaters, and various magical creatures. Several major characters are killed in the first wave of the battle. In an effort to save the survivors, Harry surrenders himself to Voldemort, who attacks Harry with the Killing Curse, sending Harry to a sort of limbo between life and death. There, Harry meets Dumbledore who explains that when Voldemort first attacked Harry as a baby, he inadvertently stored a piece of his soul in Harry's body, making Harry a horcrux. Dumbledore further states that because Voldemort used Harry's blood to regain his full strength, Harry is protected from any harm that Voldemort could commit, meaning that Harry can return to his body despite being hit by the Killing Curse. Harry then returns to his body, the battle resumes, and with the last horcrux destroyed, Harry is able to defeat Voldemort. An epilogue describes the lives of the surviving characters and implies that peace has returned to the wizarding world.

Although Rowling found it difficult to finish the book, it won high praise from critics and awards from critics, young readers and the book industry, although some critics thought the story was perhaps too frightening for younger children. Some religious authorities have condemned its use of magical themes, while others have praised its emphasis on self-sacrifice and on the way in which a person's character is the result of the person's choices.

Commentators noted that personal identity is a strong theme, highlighted in Harry's questions about himself and in the concealment of idenity by Tom Riddle and by the vain, dishonest and cowardly celebrity Gilderoy Lockhart. Opposition to racism is exemplified by Harry's considerate treatment of various non-magical, non-human and non-living characters. However, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers won the Saturn Award for the Best Fantasy Film. Video games loosely based on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets were also released for several platforms, and most obtained favourable reviews.

It won most of the UK book awards that were judged by children, and other awards in the USA. The book reached the top of the New York Times list of best-selling fiction in August 1999, and stayed near the top of that list for much of 1999 and 2000. It has been translated into several other languages and has been made into a feature-length film of the same name.

Most reviews were very favourable, commenting on Rowling's imagination, humour, simple, direct style and clever plot construction, although a few complained that the final chapters looked rushed. The writing has been compared to that of Jane Austen, one of Rowling's favourite authors, of Roald Dahl, whose works dominated children's stories before the appearance of Harry Potter, and of the Ancient Greek story-teller Homer. While some commentators thought the book looked backwards to Victorian and Edwardian boarding school stories, others thought it placed the genre firmly in the modern world by featuring contemporary ethical and social issues.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, along with the rest of the Harry Potter series, has been attacked by several religious groups and banned in some countries because of accusations that the novels promote witchcraft. However, some Christian commentators have written that the book exemplifies important Christian viewpoints, including the power of self-sacrifice and the ways in which people's decisions shape their personalities. Educators regard Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and its sequels as an important aid in improving literacy because of the books' popularity. The series has also been used as a source of object lessons in educational techniques, sociological analysis and marketing.

Virus scanners operate by searching your harddisk(s) for files which might be infected by a virus. This method is never 100% secure, since only known viruses (or known virus patterns) are detected. If an infection has been detected in a certain file, the virus scanner might be able to clean the file, but very often this is not the case.
